The short version
- Your store, products and content stay yours. You give us permission to host and show them so veedo can work.
- Sales happen in Second Life between you and your shoppers. You're responsible for what you sell and for supporting your customers.
- Only sell what you have the right to sell. Stolen, copied or illegal content gets removed.
- Premium days, codes and referral rewards have no cash value. Gaming them, for example with alts or fake sales, cancels them.
- Follow the Second Life Terms of Service and Community Standards while using veedo.
Your account
- You need a Second Life account in good standing, and you must meet Second Life's age requirements and be at least 16.
- Keep your sign-in safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account and in stores you own, including actions by team members you invite.
- Give us accurate details. Don't sign up as someone else or open stores to get around a suspension.
- The owner of a store controls it. If you're added to someone else's store, they decide your role and can remove you.
Your store and content
- You keep ownership of your store name, logos, product listings, images, text and anything else you upload.
- You give veedo a license to store, copy, resize, display and deliver that content, only as needed to run veedo, show your website and listings, and promote veedo (for example, in the "Sites made with veedo" showcase). You can switch off showcase badges in Settings, and the license ends when you delete the content, apart from backups we keep for a short time.
- You're responsible for your content. Make sure listings are accurate, permissions and prices are correct, and adult content is marked and kept to the right Second Life maturity rating.
- Themes and templates from veedo are licensed to you for use on your veedo website. Exclusive designs made for one store stay with that store.
Selling and delivery
- Shoppers pay in L$ inside Second Life. Payment goes from the shopper to the vendor and your avatar through Linden Lab's systems. veedo doesn't hold shopper money and isn't a party to your sales.
- veedo records purchases, routes deliveries from your vendors and delivery servers, and offers redelivery. Deliveries depend on Second Life, your in-world objects and their contents, so we can't guarantee every delivery arrives.
- You set your own prices, refund policy and support. Handle shopper questions, refunds and disputes yourself, fairly and promptly.
- Revenue splits to partners and affiliates are paid by your vendors with the debit permission you grant. Check your split settings; we can't reverse L$ once Second Life has paid it.
- Store broadcasts must only go to your own customers, and you must honor opt-outs.
Premium, codes and earned days
- Premium is paid in L$ at a veedo terminal in Second Life. It runs for the time you bought and then returns to Free. Your store, website and sales keep working on Free.
- Premium payments aren't refundable, except where the law requires it or we made a mistake.
- Premium codes, partner Premium and earned days (from referrals or setup steps) are free extras. They have no cash value, can't be sold, transferred or swapped for L$, and are added on top of any Premium you already have.
- Partner Premium lasts while your store holds a veedo partner badge.
- We may change Premium features or prices. If you've already paid for time, you keep what you paid for until it runs out.
Referrals and Earn Premium
- Every store gets a referral link. A creator who opens their first veedo store through your link gets free Premium days when they sign up, and more with their first sale.
- You earn days when a store you referred makes its first real sale through a veedo vendor. Purchases by either store's team don't count. Rewards grow with the number of creators you bring, up to 12 referral rewards in any year.
- Setup rewards on the Earn Premium page are paid once per store, when the step is really done.
- Don't refer yourself, your alts or stores you control. Don't make fake or self-funded sales, and don't spam your link in groups, IMs or places that don't allow it.
- If we see abuse, we can withhold or remove earned days, cancel referrals and, in serious cases, suspend the stores involved. We can change or end the program at any time. Days you've already claimed fairly stay yours.
What's not allowed
- Selling or showing content you don't have the rights to, including copybotted, ripped or stolen items.
- Anything illegal, or anything that breaks the Second Life Terms of Service or Community Standards.
- Scams, misleading listings, fake reviews, or impersonating another creator or veedo staff.
- Malware, harmful scripts or griefing through veedo vendors, servers or websites.
- Getting around limits or security: scraping, overloading veedo, probing for weaknesses, or reusing another store's keys.
- Harassment, hate, or sharing other people's personal information.
Copyright and takedowns
If you think a store on veedo uses your work without permission, use "Report this store" on that store's website, or contact Support. Tell us what the work is and where it appears. We'll review it, may remove the content and will let the store know. Stores that repeatedly infringe will be closed.
Suspension and closing
- We can hide a website, remove listings, pause vendors or suspend a store that breaks these terms, puts shoppers at risk or harms veedo. When we can, we'll tell you why and how to fix it.
- You can ask us to delete your account any time from Settings, and we'll close your store. Some records, such as sales history needed for security, fraud prevention or legal reasons, may be kept as described in our privacy policy.
- If veedo ever shuts down a service you rely on, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.
Other services
veedo works with Second Life and, if you connect them, services like CasperVend, mdVendor and the Second Life Marketplace. Your use of those services is covered by their own terms. We aren't responsible for their outages or changes.
Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to keep veedo reliable, but it's provided "as is". We don't promise it will always be available, error free or right for your needs. To the extent the law allows, veedo isn't liable for lost sales, lost L$, lost data or indirect damages, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under laws that can't be waived.
You agree to cover veedo if a claim is brought against us because of content you uploaded, items you sold, or your breaking these terms.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as veedo grows. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top and let creators know in their dashboard. Keeping your store open after that means you accept the new terms. Questions? Signed-in creators can reach us from Support in the dashboard.
