The short version

We collect what we need to run your store, deliver purchases and keep veedo safe.
We don't sell personal information and we don't use advertising trackers.
Shoppers pay in Second Life. veedo never sees payment card details.
Creators can export or delete their data from their dashboard.

What we collect

If you run a store on veedo

Account details: your Second Life username and avatar key, and your email address and password if you sign in with email. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
Store content: your store name, website, products, prices, images and settings.
In-world setup: the objects you pair with veedo (vendors and delivery servers), including their object keys, region and position, so we can route deliveries and show their status.
Team and support: who you invite to your store, and messages you send to veedo support.
Integrations: if you connect CasperVend, mdVendor or the Marketplace, the sales and listing data you choose to import. Access tokens are encrypted.

If you shop at a veedo store

Purchases: when you buy from a veedo vendor, we record your avatar name and key, the item, the L$ amount, the location and time, so the store can deliver it and offer redelivery.
Shopper sign-in: if you sign in on a store's website to redeliver an item, we confirm your avatar with a code sent to you in Second Life.
Messages: what you send through a store's contact form, such as your name, avatar name, optional email and message. It goes to that store's inbox, and the creator may reply to you by IM in Second Life.

Everyone

Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited. We use it to keep the service running, count store page views, limit abuse and block bad actors.

How we use it

To provide veedo: show store websites, deliver items, sync vendors, and give creators their sales, customers and analytics.
To communicate: sign-in codes, delivery and sale notices, and replies, sent by IM in Second Life or by email.
To keep veedo safe: preventing fraud, spam and abuse, and enforcing our rules.
To improve veedo: understanding which features are used, in aggregate.

Store broadcasts are sent by creators to their own customers. You can opt out using the link included in any broadcast.

The store you deal with. When you buy from or message a store, that creator sees your purchase or message. Creators are responsible for how they use their customers' information.
Service providers who run veedo for us: Vercel (website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics) and Supabase (database hosting). They only process data on our behalf.
Second Life. In-world deliveries and IMs travel through Linden Lab's systems, under the Second Life privacy policy.
When required by law, or to protect veedo, our users or the public from harm.

We never sell personal information or share it for advertising.

Cookies and analytics

We only use cookies that make veedo work:

veedo_session keeps creators and staff signed in to the dashboard.
veedo_avatar keeps shoppers signed in on a store's website for redelivery.
veedo_preview lets invited visitors preview veedo before launch.
veedo_ref remembers which store's referral link you followed, for 30 days, so both stores get their Premium days when you open a store.

Our site analytics (Vercel Analytics) don't use cookies and don't track you across other websites.

How long we keep it

We keep account and store data while your account is active. Sales records are kept so creators can offer redelivery and keep accurate books. When a creator deletes their account, their store data is deleted, apart from what we need to keep for security, fraud prevention or legal reasons. Technical logs are kept for a short period.

Your choices

Creators can edit store data any time, and request a full export or deletion of their account from Settings in the dashboard.
Shoppers can contact the store they bought from, or ask us to help with access or deletion of their purchase history.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to how we use your data. We'll honor these requests.

Security

All traffic to veedo is encrypted with HTTPS. Sensitive credentials are encrypted at rest, access is limited to the staff who need it, and staff accounts can be protected with two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data.

Age

veedo is for Second Life residents and follows Second Life's age requirements. It isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes and contact

If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top and let creators know in their dashboard. Questions? Signed-in creators can reach us from Support in the dashboard.
